Don Lattin
Journalist and author Don Lattin has written about the beneficial uses of psychedelic drugs for 40 years. In his new book, Changing Our Minds: Psychedelic Sacraments and the New Psychotherapy, the former San Francisco Chronicle religion writer shares stories of neuroscientists, volunteer research subjects, and others who search for safe uses of psychedelics. He also recounts his own quest for an alternative treatment for depression, which took him from Switzerland to a South American jungle. Lattin’s other books include The Harvard Psychedelic Club: How Timothy Leary, Andrew Weil, Ram Dass and Huston Smith Killed the Fifties and Ushered in a New Age for America, which was a national bestseller and won the 2010 California Book Award.
