Ivy Anderson
Ivy Anderson and Devon Angus are both artists, writers, and activists based in San Francisco. They are concerned with examining the rich and shifting landscapes of Bay Area history, culture, politics, and ecology. Their first book, Alice: Memoirs of a Barbary Coast Prostitute, published by Heyday Books, won the California Historical Society Book Award. Anderson, a bookseller at City Lights Books, is also a freelance journalist, musician, community gardener, and local bartender, and can often be found sipping a negroni at Spec's. Angus, a writer, musician, and historian, has toured his album, "Ghosts of Barbary" across Italy and Switzerland with his band, Hazy Loper. After spending years traveling the globe and educating himself in anarchist squats and off-the-grid farmhouses, Angus is now firmly planted in the Bay Area, with his two cats and too many bookshelves.
